Oblivion
This is a photo book by Adam Clitheroe about death and memory and its intersection with landscape in the deserts of south-west USA.
The images were all taken on a panoramic film camera.
Oblivion takes its cue from the text of the same name by the French anthropologist Marc Augé. He wrote: “We must forget in order to remain present, forget in order not to die, forget in order to remain faithful. […] Oblivion is the life force of memory and remembrance its product.”
Size: 210 x 148mm, saddle stitched, 32 pages.
