Bleak America explores the desiccated terrain of the Southwest USA, a land demarcated by bleakness and beauty, amnesia and nostalgia, faith and aggression: a singular landscape scarred by the contradictions of the people who settled it, and an analogue of the seemingly irreconcilable divisions in American society through the years of Trump and beyond."
